The California State Lottery wanted to enhance user engagement by providing an improved experience for active players.
A previous winning numbers lookup that lets players easily check past results by game type.
The Challenge
This features required handling distinct datasets with different complexities. The numbers lookup required an intuitive way to surface historical lottery results. Additionally, the project had a tight deadline, requiring rapid iteration and close collaboration between design and development.The Approach
Winning Numbers Lookup – Created a seamless, user-friendly interface where players could enter their numbers and filter results by game type and draw date, improving usability for frequent users.
Data Visualization & Accessibility – Ensured both features followed WCAG 2.1 compliance with clear visual hierarchies, contrast ratios, and keyboard navigation support.
Rapid Prototyping & Iteration – Worked in short design sprints to test and refine interactions quickly, aligning with development constraints to meet the deadline.
